Katy Stake Conference
August 10-11, 2024
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are pleased to extend a warm invitation to each of you to attend the Katy Texas Stake Conference scheduled for August 10-11, 2024. Elder Jonathan G. Cannon, Area Authority Seventy, will preside at the conference.
We have prayerfully sought the Lord’s direction in organizing this conference, and we assure you that the messages shared will strengthen faith and help each of us to become better disciples of Jesus Christ. We invite you to prayerfully prepare for the conference by reviewing the messages from the most recent General Conference, and we invite you to extend an invitation to your ministering individuals and families, and to your non-member friends to join with you.
The conference sessions are as follows:
Leadership Meeting:
- Saturday, August 10th, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in person at the Katy Stake Center.
- Invited to attend: All stake council and ward council members along with their respective presidencies including secretaries.
Adult Session:
- Saturday, August 10th, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in person at the Katy Stake Center.
- We encourage all members age 18+ to participate in this wonderful session of our stake conference.
- Spanish and Mandarin Translation Will Be Available at the Katy Stake Center
General Session:
- Sunday, August 11th, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Katy Stake Center: Cinco Ranch, Katy 2nd, Katy 3rd, Falcon Ranch, Grand Lakes, Katy Mills, and Nottingham Country
- Heritage Bluff Building: Cinco West, Cross Creek, and Seven Lakes
- Sealy Building: Sealy
- Spanish and Mandarin Translation Will Be Available at the Katy Stake Center
We ask that you please be seated and reverent ten minutes prior to each meeting.
For any members who feel that in person attendance is not possible (Handbook 29.7), there will be a livestream of the Saturday Evening and Sunday Morning Sessions of Stake Conference. Please contact your bishop who will be able to authorize the Zoom link details for participation remotely for this conference.
We hope that you will make preparing for and attending each of these stake conference sessions a priority. As you do so, we know that you will hear the voice of the Lord to inspire you and uplift you according to your personal needs and desires. We look forward to being with you as we fellowship with one another and strive to become more like Him.

30th Anniversary Christmas Concert with Epiphany Catholic Church
On Sunday, December 10, the 30th Annual Christmas Concert entitled “Sing We Noel” was held with over 200 participants from the membership of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Community and the Katy Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This special concert was standing room only, and featured favorite selections from past concerts with a focus on messages and songs about the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ. President Shad Hanis and Father Tom Lam each shared messages highlighting the collaboration of their congregations over the years. It was a joyous time of celebration for all!

Generous Church Donation & Service Projects - Family Hope
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints headquarters donated 24 pallets of food to Family Hope in Fulshear. This food was distributed during Family Hope’s twice-monthly food drives to community members in need.
The Katy Texas Stake also participated in helping Family Hope with sorting & distributing new shoes to school-aged children in need.
Katy Stake Service - Sleep in Heavenly Peace

2023 Katy Stake Month of Service Recap
Here are just a few of the amazing things we accomplished as a stake:
- Built 125 beds and delivered over 85 beds to families in need with Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
- Donated 65 units of blood to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.
- Packaged 500 lbs. of rice and 400 lbs. of beans for Katy Christian Ministries.
- Spread over 180 bags of mulch and 300 lbs. of river rock to beautify the grounds at Brookwood Community.
- Joined 50,000 volunteers across Houston for 1Day Houston, providing service throughout the Houston Metro area.
- Volunteered at the Waller County Sesquicentennial, handing out popcorn, snow cones, and helping with games.
- Donated over 1,600 essential items to service members stationed all over the world, with Marine Moms of Houston.
- Created fleece blankets for Bear, a non-profit organization assisting children in the CPS system.
- Constructed a fence for a sister in need, produced Mother’s Day cards for nursing home residents, and contributed gently used books to BooksBetweenKids.org to support literacy among Houston’s at-risk children.
- Compiled 80 one gallon ‘Blessing Bags’ for Hope Impacts, aiding in their mission to support Houston’s homeless population.
We were able to collaborate with eight charitable organizations in our community and meet many incredible individuals along the way. We invite you to seek for ways to continue to support these essential organizations and ease the the suffering of those in most need.
